Salinas Valley reefer freight FAQ

When is Salinas Valley produce season?

April through October. Volume starts in April, holds close to level from May through October with August and September the busiest, and drops off in November.

What happens if a truck falls through on my Salinas load?

We cover it. Between our own reefer fleet and a vetted carrier network, we have more than one way to recover the load, and you hear about it from us first, not your receiver.

Can you pick up at more than one cooler?

Yes. Many Salinas loads pick up at two or three coolers before heading out. Buying from multiple vendors? We also consolidate in Salinas, building one load so you pay for one truck instead of several.

Do you run team drivers on the long hauls east?

Yes. Nashville and Dallas are on the board from the first week of the season, so we line up team drivers for those runs.

How will I know what's on the truck?

We send end-of-day case counts, so you know how much product is headed your way the same day it loads.

Can you move my freight from Salinas to Yuma when the season shifts?

Yes. We load in Yuma and the Imperial Valley through the winter, and our top lanes stay the same through the switch, so the same trucks can follow your freight south in November and back in April.

What are your most common lanes out of the Salinas Valley?

Our most common Salinas lanes deliver to Ogden, UT; Dallas, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Nashville, TN; Phoenix, AZ; and Houston, TX. We cover other destinations too, so send us your lane and we'll quote it.
